Terms and Conditions of Use

This site is operated by [Denominação social], tax number (NIPC) [NIPC], registered office at [Sede] ("Via Portugal", "we"). Contact: viaportugal@veportugal.com · +351 920 493 758.

Via Portugal is an emigration and administrative support agency: it helps people who want to live, work, invest or obtain citizenship in Portugal understand the path and handle the part that is theirs to handle. Via Portugal is not a law firm, does not perform acts reserved to lawyers or solicitadores, and does not give legal advice.

2.1. General information on citizenship, visas, residence and life in Portugal, with the legal source cited and the date it was checked.

2.2. The eligibility checker, free and with no account, which compares your answers with the requirements published in the law and returns a starting point. The result is general information: it does not assess your specific situation, it is not a legal opinion, and it does not guarantee any authority's decision. Each application is always decided by the competent authority.

2.3. The service catalogue, with the catalogue price of each service and who does each step: you, Via Portugal, or a professional registered with the relevant professional body, where the law requires it.

3.1. This version of the site has no online payment. To order a service, write to us at viaportugal@veportugal.com, using the button on the service page.

3.2. Before any payment, we send a written proposal with the scope, the price, what is up to you, what Via Portugal does, and what, being reserved by law, is done by a registered lawyer or solicitador you hire. The contract is formed only when you expressly accept that proposal.

3.3. The catalogue price is indicative of Via Portugal's service. The proposal states the final price, including VAT where applicable, and always lists separately the fees and charges levied by public bodies, which are not Via Portugal's revenue.

3.4. Via Total, in which a lawyer runs the case under power of attorney, is announced as "coming soon" and cannot be ordered yet.

If you are a consumer and the contract is concluded at a distance, you have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason, under Portuguese Decree-Law no. 24/2014 of 14 February. If you expressly ask for the service to start before that period ends, you pay for the part already provided; if the service is fully provided within the period, at your express request and with your acknowledgement that you lose the right, the right of withdrawal no longer applies. The written proposal explains, case by case, how to exercise this right.

5.1. We do not guarantee the outcome of any application: citizenship, visas and residence permits are decided by public bodies, under the law in force and the facts of each case.

5.2. Acts that the law reserves to lawyers or solicitadores are performed by the professional you hire, under their own professional responsibility, and not by Via Portugal.

5.3. The site's information is reviewed regularly, and each page shows the date its source was checked. The law changes: before you act, confirm that the cited source is still in force, or ask us to confirm it as part of a service you order.

You agree not to use the site or the checker for unlawful purposes, not to try to access restricted areas, and not to overload the service with automated requests.

The texts, design and the Via Portugal brand belong to Via Portugal or its licensors. The legal texts quoted are public and linked to the official source.

8.1. We have an electronic Complaints Book at www.livroreclamacoes.pt.

8.2. In a consumer dispute, you may use an alternative consumer dispute resolution body. The list of bodies is on the Portuguese Consumer Portal, www.consumidor.gov.pt.

These terms are governed by Portuguese law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of habitual residence that are more favourable to you.

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date below. Changes do not apply to contracts already concluded.

*Version 1.0, in force since 2026-10-01.*
